The Charities
Over the years, the Lammas Games has raised money for many charities, including:
Plantlife
Plantlife International is a charity dedicated exclusively to conserving all forms of plant life in their natural habitats, in the UK, Europe and across the world.
Plantlife was established in 1989 after a meeting of conservationists and botanists recognised that a new organisation, was needed to champion wild plants which were seen as slipping through the net. Since then Plantlife has grown from two staff to 30, with a head office in Salisbury, UK and dedicated national offices in Scotland and Wales.

The Barn Owl Trust
The Barn Owl Trust is a registered charity dedicated to conserving the Barn Owl and its environment and is the main source of Barn Owl information in the UK.

Helen & Douglas House
Helen & Douglas House is a registered charity providing respite and end of life care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions, as well as support and friendship for the whole family. The two hospice houses are bright, vibrant and positive places, where the emphasis is on living life to the full, even when that life may be short.
There are many families in the UK who are caring for a child or young adult who has a life-shortening condition. Caring for someone with such a condition, often for 24 hours a day, seven days a week, over many years, can put an immeasurable strain upon the family. And whilst families willingly invest love, energy and care, life becomes governed by the relentless timetable of nursing and medical needs. Relationships can suffer, careers may have to be abandoned, healthy brothers and sisters can feel left out and regular family activities and holidays can be rare. Families can often feel alone and afraid in their grief.

Flexicare
Flexicare (Oxford and Abingdon) is a local Oxfordshire charity providing sitting-in, care at home and transport for families registered with it who have children with special needs. All those registered have children with serious management problems resulting from physical and/or learning disabilities; many also have chronic terminal illnesses.

Dr Hadwen Trust
The Dr Hadwen Trust is a registered charity dedicated to finding alternatives to the use of animal experiments. They aim to achieve this by funding and promoting research of the highest quality into many illnesses, to create and develop new replacement methods that can save animals and advance the understanding of human illnesses.

Tree Aid
Tree Aid is the UK's only forestry-focused development charity providing funding and on-the-ground training and support to local organisations in the Sahel. Tree Aid works where people need trees most: in the poorest villages in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, northern Ghana and Mali where 90 per cent depend on trees for basic survival needs.
